I've decided to add this page because I don't think what I want would fit in the changelog, so it goes here. I've decided to look into this site again because of certain circumstances with tumblr. I hope for this site to be a place that I can store links and when the next site, being mastodon/bluesky/tumblr 2, gets high-minded ideas of being the new "Twitter but Worse" I can just point people to this site and take up my digital bindle with minimal effort (it's got my email, what else could you need?).
It's been a while since I last worked on this place, looking at some of the files and the change log, it's been at least a year, some files say 2 years. I've got big plans for this place, it will be the new PDF. I intend to try and find things to do with html, I would like a little guestbook somewhere, failing that perhaps there is some way to jam c++ into a website, or perhaps I'll just have people email me and add it to one giant pdf that's embedded in a custom pdf reader on the site.
I don't intend to leave tumblr if possible, I really don't want to go to any of the other sites that are twitter with a gimmick, I recall hearing about a fediverse version of tumblr, maybe I'll move to a BBS or IRC. NEW IDEA: everyone make a website and we all just link to each other's website!
It would all be so much easier if every social media wasn't in a race to the bottom.
Looking at the change log, it is very funny to me (read: quite a bummer) that the second to last change includes "Added Cohost link" and the newest one is "Changed Cohost link" because in the 2 years that I haven't used neocities (or Cohost for that matter), Cohost shut down. Rest in Peace Cohost, we hardly knew ye, and we didn't know how bad it'd get.
There are a few things I am almost certain I'm going to do to this site, I plan on adding style selection (if html supports that), I reckognize that some may not share my impeccable graphic design taste. I also would like to work on art and such more often and add a gallery to this place, it wouldn't even have to be just picture art, neocities seems kind enough to let you upload almost any file type if you want.
That seems like about all I can think of at the moment, perhaps there is a way to make blog entries that easier than manually editing the html, maybe using .txt files? not sure, something to look into. I leave you with a quickly produced image, "3e3a33's Yes I recognize that 2020 is a pretty arbitrary year and many of the things that are affecting the world today are the 3rd, 4th, and nth order reactions of events that happened decades ago but the eternal bummers had to start somewhere so thats where they start!"

The main impetus for me revisiting this site, as stated above, was changes made to tumblr, changes which have since been reverted (though perhaps not permanently). So now the site shall lie dormant for 2 more years!
I did some looking into file embedding on here, I have found a way to embed text files so that could prove interesting, don't think you can put hyperlinks in a text file though, so there is much to be considered.
Looking at my previous entry I realize I spelled "recognize" incorrectly, I also did that in "eternal bummers 2026.jpg" but I caught it there, and in the transcription of the title, didn't catch it the other time I used it though, can't fathom why I used one word so many times yesterday. The typo will stay up for posterity and whatnot.
Not much else to add, not much going on, I'll definitely try to actually use this website and neocities much more in general. I would add another image, like yesterday's entry, but I can't think of anything, and I'm terribly tired. Perhaps I'll retroactively add one in the future.
